    • Marinus Willett (July 31, 1740 – August 22, 1830)
      was an American soldier and political leader from New York. He was characterized by historian Mark M. Boatner as "one of the truly outstanding American leaders of the Revolution
    • Marinus Willett Pike (1782-1861) was a carver and gilder of frames in Philadelphia. Gilded frames in this period were expensive, and Pike made some of the finest in Philadelphia, including those for portraits by Philadelphia painter Bass Otis (1784-1861).

      Also - This copy with an early ink ownership inscription on the verso of the dedication leaf (preliminary p. [8]): "Marinus Willett Pikes Book / Decmbr 23 1810/ [flourish]" and at the head of p. 1: "Marinus Willett Pikes / Book December 23 1810 / Cosin to Z. M. Pike."
