    Alba A. Lathrop was named for his great uncle Alba. Alba A. was educated at Ada College. He was a farmer for many years in Berkey, Swanton Co., OH, and Lynchburg, VA. Later he was postmaster of the Swanton Post Office, having received his appointment shortly before his death from President Wilson. Alba was a member of the Masonic, Eastern Star and Odd Fellow Lodges.
