4. | Walter William Lathrop 25 Oct 1903 Toledo, Lucas Co., OH (son of George Wilson Lathrop and Caroline Giesel). Notes: Walter attended public schools in Toledo, Ohio, and graduated from Scott High School there in 1921. He attended the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. After a few years in other business, in 1928 he joined his father in the firm of Geo. W. Lathrop and Sons, in the real estate, insurance and building business. In later years the firm confined itself to the contracting business in the building of industrial, business buildings and hospitals. He became President of the company in 1936 and Chairman of the Board in 1967. The name of the firm was changed to the Lathrop Company and it became one of the leading building contractors in the middle west. While it is based in Toledo, it operates throughout the neighboring states. Walter has been active in the Toledo Boys Club and other charities, and in Rotary. 8. | George Wilson Lathrop 9 Sep 1866 Lucas County, OH (son of James Jerome Lathrop and Jane Edmonds); 7 Sep 1936. Notes: George Wilson Lathrop went through the public schools and graduated from high school in Richfield Township, Ohio. He lived for a number of adolescent years with a Mr. and Mrs. Henry Chulip north of Berkey, Ohio. George taught school for a while, and around 1890 moved to Toledo and started work in the Toledo Post Office. This began a career of more than 25 years which concluded with his service as Postmaster from 1920-1927. As an outside activity, George worked independently in real estate and the construction of residences in the west end of Toledo. Following retirement from the post office, George established the construction firm of George W.
